About the Image(s)

I was fascinated by the symmetry, color and contrast created by these chairs, umbrellas and contrast with the water and sky; found on a beach of Castellammare, Sicily. I could not resist taking pictures from several angles as well as these three to create a panorama. Not much needed to be done other than eliminating the foreground cart handle and the repair-man on the lower left.

The panorama came out extremely well. Colors are fantastic in contrast to the dark blue sky and sea. Your position for taking the panorama was also well done and really captured the entire scene completely. I think I might have eliminated that lonely umbrella on the left side that is not open. It really doesn't fit in that place.   Posted: 06/11/2022 13:43:52

That is a good point Al and I thought I would try it. I suppose it is acceptable.

Joe, I think you pretty much nailed this one! Great colors, and of course the leading lines are obvious. One could even argue that the closed umbrella on the left ties in with those on the right. Can't find any negatives about this -- don't hesitate to enter it in a competition!   Posted: 06/13/2022 20:12:03

Looks like the closed umbrella on the left is the leader and the rest are his soldiers. :)
Very nice - great color and lines. Think it would be a good competition entry.   Posted: 06/13/2022 22:51:32

I am a little torn by the closed umbrella on the left. It's really not that bad when you consider that it bookends the closed umbrellas on the right. Anyway, taking it out isn't a bad move either. I agree with the others -- really a nice piece of work!   Posted: 06/14/2022 20:06:17

This is a very attractive panorama with beautiful colors. I can see why you were drawn to the scene. You must have been out very early to have not gotten lots of beach goers in your scene!   Posted: 06/22/2022 19:32:53

Actually Peggy, if you study the shadows of the umbrellas, you can see that it was around noon time. Yes, we stopped for lunch at this resort restaurant, it was strange that none of the guests were on the beach.   Posted: 06/30/2022 09:48:04

The symmetry and color against the sky is delightful. The angle offers wonderful leading lines. I like the lone soldier at the front as it offers opposition to the open umbrellas.   Posted: 06/28/2022 07:55:22
