About the Image(s)

I grabbed this image of a friend of ours standing in front of a broken down motor court in West Texas. I thought it was amusing how she was looking at the Cactus Courts sign as if it were a viable motel. Shot with a Canon 7D at 33mm at f/8. Minor processing in Lightroom.

Amusing, yes Mike, but without the explanation, it leaves me wondering.   Posted: 01/10/2022 11:23:56

I think that including more of the motor court would help explain the image. I'd prefer that the woman and sign not be so centered, but you didn't indicate if you had cropped, so you may not be able to adjust that.   Posted: 01/10/2022 15:35:32

It appears that you went to some length to make all of the building's lines level and plumb, so that worked out well. But, as Peggy mentioned, everything seems centered and static, plus the lady's feet are brushing against the bottom border.   Posted: 01/12/2022 05:26:35

The explanation of the image definitely helped. Given that, significant cropping on both sides of the image to eliminate all the extraneous stuff would help focus us on the person's actions.   Posted: 01/12/2022 12:48:13

I agree with the other comments. Cropping to the red might help, however, what I struggle with most is the post growing out of her head. I love how you have us thinking this one through!   Posted: 01/14/2022 10:03:56
