About the Image(s)

I brought the original into Photoshop and copied the layer. Then I went to Neural Filters and chose Landscape Mixer. As I hadn't used the Neural Filters before, I had to download them first. In Landscape Mixer is a group of sliders for each season plus Sunset and a Strength slider. I wanted to see what Winter would look like. In one click I achieved the result you see here. I added a light vignette and a stroke.

Experimentation is what gets us stimulated and gets us to discover new things. You have a different look here, which appears to me to be a frosted look. But I miss all the beautiful fall colors of the original. A bit of cropping on the right may help.   Posted: 11/06/2021 14:42:11

Personally I think cropping more from the right would make the pumpkin more centered and the frost was more my intention.
Perhaps if I had called it "Frosted Fall Scene"? :)   Posted: 11/06/2021 15:03:25

I really like this effect. I haven't done anything with Neural Filters yet, but it looks very interesting. The frostiness is nice, and I suppose you could brush it off where you don't want it. I think the positioning of the pumpkin is fine. I'm wondering about the little circular spots on the big pumpkin. Is that caused by the dirt that was there, or was that caused by removal of the dirt with a brush?   Posted: 11/08/2021 15:54:10

The Neural Filters are really interesting. I think it's the way the filter treated the pumpkin. I didn't do anything to it other than the filter. After I looked at it online, it did look a little strange. Almost like the pumpkin was going bad.   Posted: 11/08/2021 22:12:10

Interesting experiment and well worth the attempt. Interesting your mention about the pumpkin looking like it was going bad -- the overall effect, especially in the straw -- is that it appears that there is a lot of mold and decay, rather than frost. Just the way it strikes me. Perhaps more saturation would help. This technique has possibilities, but maybe in a different type of image.   Posted: 11/10/2021 17:06:40

I like the composition. I hate to say it, but the effects on the pumpkin make it look rotten to me. The original looked much nicer and not as yucky.   Posted: 11/10/2021 20:13:42

An interesting effect and I enjoy playing with different options in postprocessing as well, but I like your original composition and think I would have preferred a cleanup and enhancement of the original. The final product looks decayed and pretty unappealing to me.   Posted: 11/12/2021 09:56:06
