About the Image(s)
I caught this young Red Headed Woodpecker just as he launched off an oak in a local park. The camera was on continuous rapid exposures, and I thought it was pretty neat the way the bird hadn't spread his/her wings quite yet. Also note the first winter molt, where the brown head feathers are being replaced with the red.
Coolpix P1000, SS 1/640, f/8, ISO 400, 152 mm. Cropped and all PP in LR.

Great action catch. You might consider brightening it up with Levels in Photoshop. On my screen it looks a bit hazy.   Posted: 11/04/2023 20:46:22
Gonna do just that. Thanks!   Posted: 11/10/2023 09:51:37
Great capture. If it is sharp enough I would try a much tighter crop.   Posted: 11/10/2023 08:20:53
I'm going to work with crops and re submit. Thanks!   Posted: 11/10/2023 09:52:24
Caught at the exact moment of take-off. I would crop a little off the bottom of the tree to just above the small branch sticking out left to let us have a closer view of the bird in action!   Posted: 11/10/2023 08:38:11
Will re crop. Thanks!   Posted: 11/10/2023 09:52:52
I looked again on a bigger screen. It is not sharp so I do not think a crop will work. What did you feed it?   Posted: 11/10/2023 16:16:57
I agree with others that this needs a tighter crop, particularly on the left and bottom. I would also reduce the vignetting, it should be subtle rather than obvious.   Posted: 11/14/2023 14:20:11
