October 2021 - Lost in Thought

About the Image(s)

Here is my image for Oct. It is a composite of two fairly old images. The pensive look on the face of my granddaughter Katie fitted the mood that the waterfall image creates. In fact the name of the waterfall which I photographed in Scotland is the Weeping Widow Waterfall. Although Katie is neither weeping or a widow her expression has the sadness I was looking for. I imagined her being lost in the waterfall deep in thought.

Hazel,
The combination is working well. The name of the waterfall is particularly appropriate as you point out. The switch to monochrome helps give the feeling also The only suggestion I would make would be to remove the lines that are in there. I have no idea she they came from but the judicious use of the Healing brush in PS, set to Content aware could fix that easily. Very good concept.   Posted: 10/16/2021 14:22:10

Thanks for pointing this out Joan. The lines were in the wall behind Katie in the original image. I should have erased them before I combined the two images. Silly me.   Posted: 10/16/2021 15:22:11
