About the Image(s)

The seascape is a picture taken on the west coast of Newfoundland. By itself, it seemed like a pretty bland photograph and needed a focal point. The rocks and shoreline are situated in a way that created a natural frame and I wanted to take advantage of that to see if I could transform a rather dull picture into one that was more interesting. I layered the clock on top of the background and used a soft brush erase the bottom so as to make it appear that is in the water. I made a rectangular image of the gears where I moved them, reversed some, repeated some, adjusted the brightness and contrast, and crowded them together to get a random look. I then used a spatter spray on top of the gears to make it look like they were disintegrating. I used a soft brush to erase parts of the rectangular gear layer to give it a sense of motion. The gear layer (stock image) was placed underneath the clock and a soft brush was used to erase part of the clock to expose the gears.

Well done the movement of the gears toward the all fits together.   Posted: 07/28/2021 15:33:56

Great concept. I think if I were to change anything I would slightly reduce the amount of gears between the center and the one and two position on the watch, to give them a little more definition. At present it seems a little muddy.   Posted: 07/29/2021 09:08:54

A good idea and imaginative. I dont have that imagination sadly and wish I had! I'm not sure you need to include all the rock on the left or all the foreground? Love the movement and how youve blended the clock into the water   Posted: 07/29/2021 09:47:11
