About the Image(s)
The Petrified Forest NP preserves the largest collection of petrified wood in the world. It is deserving a monument and that's what I tried to portray. The setting should make one think though. What happened to the rest of the tree?
I am told the tree was not cut; splitting occurs naturally, but the rest of the log is no where to be seen.

Interesting place and you have made the most of your original picture, getting in closer and showing a lovely flow to the remains of the log   Posted: 09/10/2021 09:13:06

Nice job with the crop. The white flow leads you right to the petrified wood swirls you around and keeps you there.   Posted: 09/26/2021 09:52:14

Using the rule of thirds in this image really makes it stand out....with a touch of saturation the colors are spectacular.   Posted: 09/30/2021 18:13:18
