About the Image(s)
I am not sure how I feel about this. I took the original to possibly use in my local photo club's monthly competition, this month the theme was Transportation.
Not the best shot, so I made it an oil painting using generative fill in PS.
While I do like the photo better, I kind of feel like it is cheating.

I think the painted look works well to give it a different look. I might crop some of the white sky off to bring your attention more to the bus, cropping a little above the trees.   Posted: 03/06/2025 10:15:00
I will try the crop you suggested.   Posted: 03/09/2025 14:16:34
Not cheating if you like it!!
The "painting changes the image a lot. I like what it has done to the windscreen. I agree with Jan and would crop off the top or perhaps make the image square?

Creative is always about your vision. There are so many thoughts and discussion regarding this topic. Well done.   Posted: 03/08/2025 14:51:31
This Photo is an Altered Reality of the original photograph. It cannot be construed as "cheating" because it is obviously a creative rendition. And it works. This is the category we get to play in, I do agree with cropping down from the top.
Instead of using AI, maybe you could have tried some of the filters in Photoshop. For me, AI is the slippery slope.   Posted: 03/11/2025 12:15:46

Fran, I agree that AI if a slippery slop. I have mixed feelings. For personal use I have no qualms about using generative fill to speed up something that I could reasonably do using the other PS filters such as cloning, or content aware fill. I do a lot of my painting with Corel Painter. I feel that if I use AI for painting it is not my work. However, although it would still be controlled by my creative thinking, the extent of my creativity would be like putting a mustache on the Mona Lisa.   Posted: 03/23/2025 19:13:06
