Hi Harriet,
Great use of light and shadow here. You've taken an `every day' scene and made it into something special. My only suggestion would be to crop in a bit more on the planter to help avoid the reflections coming from the countertop.

Yet another in your successful series of pictures. I like the way you have used monochrome for the pictures. The shadows help to make a more interesting background. The plant is nice and sharp. It has been a good location for your early morning series.   Posted: 11/17/2023 12:17:40

I like your choice of monochrome and I like the shadows. Monochromes do well with lines. textures, and shadows. Your image has them all. I think it would improve if you could tone down the hot spot on the right side of the pot.   Posted: 11/26/2023 00:43:20

Harriet, The lighting is my view is the most dominant in this picture. It is implied by the title too. My question is - what is the the main subject of the picture? the plant or shadows ?

Adi - I am an early riser and study the light in my kitchen throughout the seasons.   Posted: 11/26/2023 20:21:06
