About the Image(s)
I took this photo at Kensington Metro Park. I went there looking to get photos of the swan and its young but something happened to the babies. So I went on a hike in the woods and saw so many cool things. I loved how the light hit the blooms of the dogwood tree

Yes, good play of light and shadow. It almost has a dream-like quality   Posted: 06/08/2022 04:19:35
Thank you! I was disappointed that day because I wanted to take a series of photos of the swans and their young. I drove an hour to get there to discover the young had been killed and the swans were rebuilding the nest. So I decided on a walk in the woods and got this.   Posted: 06/08/2022 15:08:59
Welcome to our group Carol,
Great texture, shapes, and colors. The sunlight on the Dogwood and shaded trees in the background provided good DOF.
Nicely done.   Posted: 06/12/2022 09:33:34

Hi Carol, Welcome to the group. I like the play of light & shadow and the vibrancy of the colors. One suggestion, you may want to consider cropping down from the top a bit since the main subject seems to be branch in the center.

Carol - I welcome you to the group as well. Your image has a painterly quality which is quite pleasing. You captured the beautiful light.   Posted: 06/19/2022 13:11:55
Carol, welcome to the group. I joined this group in 2004 and am perhaps the longest term member other than John Hacket. You have started with a beautiful image. The light is great, and the image might have some painterly filter on it, but perhaps it is just great light. I think I agree with Norm about a small crop on the top. You can just pull the image up in your browser to see the crop. I would keep that horizontal branch to help frame the shot.   Posted: 06/20/2022 14:24:32
I did not use any kind of filter on it. I was very fortunate that day when I was walking. Actually I was rather disappointed because I was looking for the swan to see its babies but something happened to its nest and they were all destroyed. So I went for a walk in the woods as the light was coming up more I saw this tree in Dogwood and stopped for a moment to grab that shot. I will do the cropping it does look better that way and thank you so much for the comments everybody   Posted: 06/20/2022 17:43:06
