May 2022 - Valley of Fire Red Rocks

About the Image(s)

Shot at ISO 400, 12 mm, f/14, 1/250 with an Olympus Micro 4/3 M1 Mark II 12-100 f/4.0. Just inside the park there is an unpaved road to the left with a lot of what I think is the best of the park.

Hi Stan,
The red/orange color against the blue sky creates a strong impact. Your perspective draws my eye up to the Red Rocks and gives the subject a powerful presence in the frame. Sharp details and good DOF. Nice texture on the rocks and foreground. Well done indeed.   Posted: 05/10/2022 11:52:27

Hi Stan, This is a beautiful landscape image. Great color & detail and wonderful composition...My eye easily glided through the image. The only thing in my mind that may have enhanced the image further might be some kind of iconic object in the foreground--tumbleweed etc.

Although we have a strong combination of colours with the sky and rock, I do wonder if this would look more impressive with one of your contrasty mono conversions. I like he way we are led into the gap in the rocks by the rough looking vegetation and also I like the general composition.   Posted: 05/16/2022 07:21:03

Stan, The composition of this image is very pleasing. I agree with John that a b&W might add to its uniqueness and impact. Harriet   Posted: 05/24/2022 13:12:27
