About the Image(s)
These figures were on the quay at Visby, Sweden and I was attracted by the long evening shadows. The image was cropped then run through Corel Painter Essentials 8 using the Opaque Acrylic filter.

Looks like a hand painted image. Well done   Posted: 11/05/2023 22:11:32

I like the original and the Shadows story. The painterly effect does not enhance the story for me. I have seen a similar picture, which was turned to a B&W version, with the people almost silhouetted and the shadows really popped out.   Posted: 11/07/2023 14:58:33

Your treatment has certainly changed the image, but I am not sure that it really works. My choice would have been to change to mono so simplyflying the effect rather than the added big blotches of colour version..   Posted: 11/10/2023 19:30:35

It is a matter of the eye of the beholder. I find I like the effect, although it is rather "blocky." I might prefer a little more blending.   Posted: 11/11/2023 18:48:32

I like the original image. Very interesting perspective and composition. I am not so keen about the revision but do not know what to suggest as an alternative.   Posted: 11/17/2023 15:35:34

Thanks for your comments. I am not that fond of this treatment myself but thought it worth the experiment. And if you don't try something then the opportunities are missed.   Posted: 11/17/2023 15:56:55
