I like the purple color and the left right/symmetry and repetition in the building windows. Unfortunately, the picture isn't level and I find that distracting. Some things to consider - blacken the sky so that the light beams stand out more, and lighten the people at the bottom so they become integral to the scene.   Posted: 10/10/2024 20:36:12

Hmm...on my screen the people seem to be fine. I can see someone with what looks like a white scarf in line with the second tree from the left and can make out individuals closer to the hotel. My brightness on the apple screen is not quite to 1/2 way on the slider.

I can make the building more upright but limited due to the width of the building in the photo before I end up cutting off part of the left and right edges of the roof.

Do you have any suggestions on how to get the sky more black?   Posted: 10/10/2024 23:53:44

I tried uploading an edited version, but the website limits file size and I think it just appears tiny.   Posted: 10/11/2024 03:05:52

Edited in Lightroom and Photoshop. Selected the sky and used sliders to adjust brightness. Used generative expand and perspective crop to level and correct distortion.   Posted: 10/11/2024 03:03:04

The symmetry of this image, color of the building and silhouette of the trees in the foreground make for an interesting image. Although my first impression was that the people in the foreground looked fine in your original image, I do admit I like the adjustments Sheldon made and think this makes for a more interesting photo. I find my MacBook always displays image lighter and brighter, which leads to some disappointments when producing prints - a monitor calibrator would help…   Posted: 10/12/2024 14:52:15

Hi Joe, Good choice of subject. I like architectural photography and architecture in general. Sheldon's comment regarding the people in front of the building is of note. I think the people add to the inviting aspect of the photo. It also seems, to me, photographing at night is more dramatic. Again, good subject choice.   Posted: 10/12/2024 19:05:20

I like this just the way it is. The colours are good and the time of year is spot on as we do not have leaves on the trees which would block out detail and spoil the view.   Posted: 10/13/2024 13:23:44

I also like the photo as presented. With the striking color and geometry of the building, the people are secondary and only appear as silhouettes on my screen.   Posted: 10/13/2024 19:34:48
