We drove 3 hours to Winter Haven, Florida to see the Cypress Gardens water ski show. Cypress Gardens was a world-famous show that flourished from 1942 to 2009 when it was shut down and the property was purchased for the Legoland theme park. The water skiers wanted their legacy to continue, so they arranged to give a free show on the third Saturday of every month at Silver Lake, near Legoland in Winter Haven. I was delighted to photograph the beautiful show.
I took this image with my Sony A6300 camera's 18-300mm lens at 1/1250 sec, f/8.0, ISO 1000. I straightened and cropped the image, removed the police car from the grass behind the skiers, and used Topaz DeNoise to remove noise. I did no other edits.

Nice job in removing the distractions from the image. It makes a difference. The rule of thirds works well here as it shows them floating forward into the empty space to the right. Posted: 05/16/2023 11:00:57
Your crop looks just right. I love the vibrant colors of the costumes. The image has a lot of energy to it. I'm drawn in to see the various expressions on their faces.

Thanks to everyone for your comments. Terry, it's the camera (Sony A6300), my wonderful new Tamron lens - 18-300mm, and the higher ISO which gives me such a fast shutter speed. That's my guess. Posted: 05/28/2023 08:24:33
