Lovely image! The challenge with these orchids is focus, which you handled very well. I like to way you included the stem, it prevents the flower from just appearing to float in the air. There is a tiny black dot on the top right petal that you may want to use the healing brush on.   Posted: 11/10/2021 15:33:12

I like orchids. They were a favorite of mine while I lived in Hawaii. You captured this nicely. Given the age of the photo and the camera, focus stacking was not really prevalent then. However, an f/9 or even f/11 might have brought the center into better focus.   Posted: 11/10/2021 17:09:11

Good perspective angle and the stem gives context. Fine image   Posted: 11/13/2021 08:40:24

Beautiful orchid. I like that you removed the lower left leaf and upper right flower piece. I would lighten the diagonal stem that comes out from the right side of the flower and connects to the vertical stem.

Also, I've always read that when shooting at 200mm, the shutter speed should be a least 1/400 - or faster - a 1:2 ratio of focal length to the denominator of the shutter speed - to insure sharpness of the image.

Lovely orchid!

I wold prefer a little bit wider crop.

I would also lighten the nearest part of stem not beginning so "in the air". The upper part of stem should be burnt a little bit.

Although orchids are very difficult about DOF, I think, that it's not a problem here. 1/200 at 200mm handheld is just on the boarder to be or not to be sharp. It should be a little bit more sharp.

Thanks for the constructive comments. I tried to brighten the lower portion of the stem.   Posted: 11/22/2021 01:51:47
