Walter, I can not believe the clarity and color you were able to get during post processing. It is truly a wonderful image. I think your cropping is spot on to give us the full effect of this bird taking flight. Although we do not see great details in the feathers, the water and all over feel of the image definitely tells the story.   Posted: 07/11/2021 16:17:48

Yes, it is amazing what you brought out in this photo. You did have to sacrifice some sharpness to crop so severely, but the result may be worth it. The best part for me is that the bird is so cute, it makes me smile.
The colors are over-saturated for a nature photo, but just right for a fine art picture.   Posted: 07/11/2021 19:59:37

Nice image of bird in flight. I liked the cropping. You could bringout the details in water and bird. The color of the bird looks a little un-natural. The darkening of the corners make the bird standout.   Posted: 07/15/2021 11:51:59

It's hard to get sharp images of bird flying. At capturing you didn't need F8, because you don't need wide DOF. It could be F5,6. Also lower ISO should improve the quality of image. Shutter of 1/2000 should improve it.

You have made a little bit too much processing. Colors became unnatural. On the edges there are red and blue bands of color aberation. Image make me feel like painting.   Posted: 07/17/2021 11:31:57

For birds in flight I need f8 for closer bigger birds. Those creatures are unpredictable. I agree that it is over processed for a nature category.

It's hard to believe you got that much detail during your post processing and I agree with the others that it would be better in the "general" category rather than "Nature". I think your crop is a little too tight because the reflection in the water cut off his head. You were able to capitalize in the original so I think it is worth including it in your final post processing. The action freeze frame is great.   Posted: 07/18/2021 11:35:03
