About the Image(s)

I took this in Gutemala out of a bus window. The original sky was very uninspiring, so I decided to change it out. The new Sky Select tool in Photoshop2022 is wonderful. It does an amazing job even getting every leaf and branch in a tree against the sky. That was not what happened hereabout still make a perfect selection and I used it to insert a sunset picture taken in the desert. When you copy a photo into the outlined area in which you want it to go, you can move the sky around until you find the best spot for it, provided it is bigger than your image space. In this case, I moved it so there was a lighter area around the bird. I put the sky in using Command-Option-Shift-Fl to constrain it to just the marching ants area.

Joan: Beautifully crafted image. The composition is perfect. No suggestions for improvement. Aren't sky replacement amazing, Simple photographic composites can't be beat.   Posted: 05/10/2022 07:50:49

Hi Joan, I love it, too. There is great drama in the sharp silhouette against the blazing sky, and the way you have placed the sun so that the last rays reach the bird is just perfect!   Posted: 05/11/2022 05:35:46
