About the Image(s)

While in Northern Europe, I stopped in Copenhagen, Denmark that has such colorful architectural buildings. Wanted to capture the colors, as well as the reflection in the water.

Taken with 5D Mark IV, 15-30mm Tamron, ’/2.8, 1/125, ISO100, w/slight edits with Lightroom/Photoshop.

Hi Christine! I think that you have captured the colorful scene and the clear Nordic light beautifully! I think that the diagonal line of the pier and the tilt of the perspective make an interesting and dynamic composition. I wonder if a slight cropping of the sky might enhance the effect?   Posted: 05/11/2022 05:26:00

What a beautiful city/seascape! The colors are glorious and brilliant. Usually the tilting of buildings bother me, but in this case, seems to work? The selections in the water are remarkable.

Christine,
I love the exposure and wonderful colors of the house and reflections in the water. The composition is excellent because of the strong diagonal effect you have achieved. The only change I would suggest is to straighten the houses on the right hand side using for instance the Transform tool in Photoshop. I assume there is sometiing similar in Lightroom. When you call up the Transform too, (Command - T), it has four corners. I would access the upper right hand corner and using Command-Option, pull it out to the right and also up to keep it from getting squat.
I am enclosing my efforts. The lower part of the image is missing because the newer screen shot in PS includes a bunch of stuff that I don't want to show, so I have cut it out. I have to figure out how go get around that.   Posted: 05/20/2022 14:22:02

Christine, this would be an amazing puzzle photo. We have been to Copenhagen, so I love your perspective. The colors are sharp and vibrant. Leading lines and reflections are so perfect.   Posted: 05/20/2022 15:41:53

Christine, you have been very successful in capturing the colors and the reflections. I like the diagonal composition and leading lines. Good job.
I find the tilt a bit distracting, Joan's edit is very helpful.   Posted: 05/25/2022 08:44:33

Thank you everyone for such great feedback! Copenhagen has always fascinated me with its colorful and distinct architecture. Purposefully, I left the tilt because it just gave a different perspective. However, I can see how it may be distracting for some. I love Kristi & Joan's suggestion, which is helpful, but it just gives me a totally different feel than what I was trying to achieve. Again, appreciate everyone's feedback!   Posted: 05/28/2022 05:39:20
