About the Image(s)

We went up to the Sacramento Wildlife Refuge recently. They have an auto drive route through it and we took it, of course. There were many ducks around, mostly mallards, but others as well. Just kept taking shots with my long lens, a 150 - 600 Tamron on my Nikon D750. I liked the look of the moving ducks, so played with the original, moving one duck into the threesome. Layers and Photoshop, of course. The original was pretty high key (or overexposed), which ever you prefer, so I left it on the high key side. I could kink of see this as a card for Welcome, Fall.

HI Joan, I really like the composition you created by grouping the three birds. The motion blur adds a lot to the image as well as the high key exposure.

Hi Joan: CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR FPSA; YOU CERTAINLY DESERVE IT! Your flying ducks are nicely placed in the image. I like the fact that the ducks are in different flying positions. They really appear to be flying in space. They seem make up an artist sketch and the high key is just right.. the grouping of the birds in a motion blur.   Posted: 11/15/2021 16:41:55

Hi Joan, I join in the line of those who wish to hang this on their wall. The composition and the tones are so beautiful, and there is such a sense of movement. I wonder if one more layer of fog would make make the outlines even smoother and accentuate the dreamy quality? A wonderful image!   Posted: 11/17/2021 04:20:46
