Hi Xiao
Beautiful image, particularly as you have indicated, the background really makes this. The tonal range blend well together and complement throughout the range. Detailing the bird is excellent and it looks like is just about to land giving a sense of action as well not much else I can add to this other than as a beautiful image and I do like it.   Posted: 05/09/2023 21:15:44

Hi Xiao - You have captured some really nice detail in this Hermit Thrush. I agree that you have achieved great color tone and a moody feel - good job. If this were my image, I might flip it horizontally to create a diagonal moving up toward the right and to take some emphasis off the bird's backside. I can't tell, perhaps this bird is landing, taking off, or hopping around - it really doesn't show in the wings or talons. This is where a bit of blur might have helped. Still a very lovely image.   Posted: 05/13/2023 22:40:25

hi Xiao. I agree that this is an excellent image, capturing the bird well, but also placing him in an artistic composition which brings attention to the bird, but still provides interest and mood. The only suggestion I would make is to try desaturating the background just a tad, to make the bird the most brilliant color in the image. That said, comparing the results might make it clear that it is better just the way it is! Ingrid   Posted: 05/14/2023 15:34:37
