About the Image(s)

My intend was to try to capture the ranch hands having a little fun. The image was captured with a Nikon D850 with a 24-70 f2.8 lens. The camera settings were f2.8 , ISO 200 with a shutter speed of 1/1000. I did a little post processing in Bridge. Just a little cropping, sharpening, brightening the faces, and adding some vibrance. I look forward to your comments and feedback.

Hi Greg - You really got some nice shots at that Colorado ranch! I like your cropping choice by leaving in some room for those horses to run in the foreground and taking out a good portion of the sky. Nice lighting, though I am not sure why the shadow is strong on the ground of the most left rider, less strong on the middle and non-existent for the right rider. I like that the horses are kicking up some dust providing a sense of the action. The cowboys/girls seem to be genuinely enjoying the moment which makes me smile and drawn to their faces. Good job in processing which made for a very lovely photograph.   Posted: 10/02/2021 22:02:16

Hi Greg

Very nice environmental portrait with your choice of crop really bringing the central focus to the riders. The look on their face definitely brings a story to mind. The choice of shutter speed works giving clarity and sharpness to all the details with the lighting, from the image right giving prominence to the riders and background scenery depicting the working environment. Nice image, to me it looks like you have achieved superbly what you set out to achieve. Thanks for sharing   Posted: 10/09/2021 22:43:48

I love this! The riders are in perfect focus and the light on them is beautiful. I also love the slightly hazy mountains in the background. It's a wonderful scene very well captured and processed. Congratulations.
(I do find the strong shadow below the left hand rider a little confusing since it doesn't show up as strongly with the other two. Maybe it would help to lighten that shadow just a tad to make it less prominent.)   Posted: 10/11/2021 22:15:57

Hi Greg, Beautiful image! Vere well done! You focused them very well at f2.8. I like how the background is handled, very blur, a very dramatic feel. Also, I hope the front ground grasses are a little more blur.   Posted: 10/13/2021 13:09:58

Hi Greg,
Greetings.

Apologies for delay critic. Better late then never. I love the composition that you shared with us for this edition. The scenario reminds me of wild west and their Hollywood Clint Eastwood movie scene. The riders are enjoying and the photographer did do a nice job capturing them. The post process is handled nicely. The shadow of the left riders really making distraction. Probably the shadow can be lightened a bit.

Overall a nice presentation. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers.
