Paddy River Falls by Wendy Stanford

November 2021 - Paddy River Falls

About the Image(s)

Taken on an overcast day , had to increase F stop to f22.0 with ISO 100 to slow the shutter speed to 1/6 sec to make the water appear milky,

Processing done in Adobe Raw with curve adjustments in Photoshop.

A couple of months after I took this the area was devastated by a large bushfire, it is close by but due to restrictions ,I haven't been back to see how the falls look.

Love the water making it come alive milky something I always enjoy in waterfalls.   Posted: 11/10/2021 16:18:43

Beautiful shot of the cascading water, so flowing in contrast to the rocks below. I hope that this area is still as beautiful once it reopens.   Posted: 11/13/2021 18:37:35

Hi Wendy, I was browsing through images and yours caught my eye. Your image has a neat luminosity and color flow. (no pun intended.) The water itself has just a hint of rainbow effect. I glad that you kept the negative space on the right. It keeps your image from looking cramped. Beautiful work.
When I first looked at your image I thought that I had been to the same place. But My images were taken around Cherokee N.C. I hope one day I will be able to go to Australia.   Posted: 11/20/2021 09:24:18

Great composition and the slow shutter has helped to not only capture that milky water flow but also bring out the deep rich colours of the surrounding rock and vegetation. Great image!   Posted: 11/20/2021 10:46:09

That is an amazing backdrop for a waterfall. The variation in hues is very nice and soothing. And of course the waterfall is perfectly photographed. Very nice photo.   Posted: 11/28/2021 18:23:58
