About the Image(s)
This was another difficult topic, after last month’s graveyards as I have many options to choose from.
I’m afraid that this one turned out to be be an excuse to look back at all my photos and places that we went to last May as we drove Route 66 from LA to Chicago.
What I did
As usual I’ve kept my manipulation to a minimum. Straightened slightly to level up the horizon and resized for the group.
This round’s discussion is now closed!

It as seen a lot better days and very well placed with the sign of the famous road which was last one over 24 years ago.   Posted: 10/09/2024 13:38:28

Thank you Tim. There were so many of these views during the trip.   Posted: 10/15/2024 12:31:21

The composition is wonderful, with the angled sign setting the scene. The shrubery forms a triangle that is topped by the building in the background. I've never been on all of this iconic road; I hope that your trip was one to remember.   Posted: 10/13/2024 03:10:33

Thanks Barbara. Of all of our US road trips, this was the one we wanted to do the most and it more than lived up to our hopes.   Posted: 10/15/2024 12:32:22

Thank you Jennifer.
I am not sure what you are trying to say unless it was about the shadow in the bottom left corner. That is the shadow of the sign which, unfortunately, got cropped.   Posted: 10/15/2024 12:34:12

Great capture. I think I would have done a tighter crop. Some from the bottom and some from the top. I think then the building would stand out more and not the sign.   Posted: 10/18/2024 23:37:03

Thanks Russell. I had meant to crop to the brick, about 1/5 of the way up, but forgot when I prepped and posted to Tim.   Posted: 10/19/2024 15:19:39

Hi Steven,, great image, wonderful looking building in the middle of nowhere, worth stopping for, you have thought about your composition and framing, I think a crop on the bottom to the brick would eliminate the shadow, take the building off centre, this would add a sense of vastness of the image by having more sky,   Posted: 10/21/2024 04:34:09

Thanks Wendy. As I said to Russell, I had intended to crop but forgot when I sent the image into Tim.   Posted: 10/21/2024 13:52:11
