Leading Lines by Kerstin Köneke

September 2021 - Leading Lines

About the Image(s)

This is a smartphone shot (Huawei P30 pro, F 1,6, ISO 50, 1/1383 sec.) taken in my kitchen in the morning.

When the sun is shining through the window into my kitchen, the blinds before it often are drawing some intriguing shadow lines into it.

And even taking the shot was documented at the door as you can see.

I only cropped and sharpened the picture afterwards a bit – nothing else.

This image is all about lines. Good thinking to see the hand and blinds and camera shadows pointing to the handle Nice exposure. I wish the hot spot was not there but I doubt that there is anything you can do to remove it. A small crop on the top edge would minimize it.   Posted: 09/07/2021 11:33:14

An air of intrigue about this image...and an expectation of the door being opened! Nicely done with the shadows of the hand acting as the leading lines and the blinds casting a good backdrop. Agree with Barbara about the hot spot but little i think you could do on that.   Posted: 09/13/2021 19:05:51

Interesting way of getting leading lines I wouldn't have thought of with using shadows. I have found issues of under exposed pics with Smartphones and usually end up doing a lot of post processing. Looks like that didn't happen with yours.   Posted: 09/17/2021 01:46:20

A real quick and easy way to remove that glare spot. It took me 5-10 seconds. Lasso the area in Photoshop, Edit-ContentAware Fill. Done! I can't believe another "shadow" leading line. You guys are so creative! This image is full of lines that keep my eye in the picture. How does Kerstin come up with these inventive creations? I am so unimaginative in comparison. I like that we can see the details of the door handle so well, too.   Posted: 09/19/2021 15:55:52

Horizontal leading llines - great idea. We usually think of the leading lilnes as being diagonal. Yes, there is an air of intrigue. There can be many stories here. The shadows of the blinds open up lots of creative ideas.   Posted: 09/24/2021 09:34:54
