About the Image(s)

This picture was taken in Thailand a few years ago. It was taken with a D7100 ISO 200 F/7.1 1/200 sec. I did not really have to alter the sat or lighting much but I did spend some time cropping and using the clone tool in PS to clean up the grass in front of the girl and minimize the chain. Probably could have continued a bit further with the light in front of her but felt the modifications were enough.

Nicely done Walter. I use some sort of cloning technique on many of my images. Cropping first to minimize the are to be cloned makes your work a lot easier. The diagonal from the girl's hat to the building in the distance adds interest to this image.   Posted: 07/11/2021 10:23:27

Cropping and cloning are such important techniques. Thanks for your example. I think it's very effective. We should all re-consider our cropping for every image!   Posted: 07/18/2021 14:33:00

Cloning and cropping are my go to tools for many images. I'm usually cutting out distracting objects. Cloning was something I used for removing things like power lines but PS and even Lightroom keep coming out with even better tools. Someone always has a better way of removing power lines. :)
Good photo too !

Walter, I love this image. There are no distractions here thanks to your cloning and cropping. The lighting is perfect and the bright pink hat adds impact. I also like the fact that you let some of the tree leaves fill the top of the image.   Posted: 07/20/2021 10:41:57

A great story here and like the way your subject has crouched down to take the photo. You did a good job with the cropping & cloning except i might have continued further and cropped in a bit from the left to exclude the Red Temple which my eye goes to. Good light on the hat and i like the framing at the top with the tree.   Posted: 07/20/2021 15:30:50
