Intentional Blur - Going for a Walk by Carole Kropscot, FPSA

June 2021 - Intentional Blur - Going for a Walk

About the Image(s)

I used the phone app called Slow Shutter. There are many settings to choose from, so it is possible to be very creative. This was my 3rd shot ever! It says exposure time was 8 secs, so I think this was just one of my steps! It says f/1.8 and ISO 20. Shutter Priority. Auto white balance. Date created: 6/1/2021. I was walking on a sidewalk. It's interesting how the camera captured the concrete texture!

This is an original way to use ICM. Most people swipe or zoom. The B&W treatment emphasizes the direction of movement very well. You take a lot of pictures with your phone, and they are very good. When I use the camera phone the results are unintentional camera movement.   Posted: 06/06/2021 09:52:17

Great idea, Carole. The position of your leg and feet are nicely off center. The vertical lines fill up the rest of the frame. Monochrome is a perfect choice for this image.   Posted: 06/07/2021 17:09:23

Making it other than color was, I felt, a good idea. It's crazy all the apps you can get for phone now. I thought it was very creative doing this.

You have captured something so simple and turned into a creative masterpiece! I really like this image and the contrast between the shoe and the sidewalk...amazing texture. Nicely framed too giving your feet room to move!   Posted: 06/14/2021 14:45:19
