About the Image(s)

I wanted to make a little "scenic" that captured the feeling of standing at the pond's edge and enjoying the colorful autumn season at Antioch Park near me. I marvel at seeing the trees reflected in the water. It's even more fun in person because the reflections move around. The tiny ducks were a little bonus in this image. I set my aperture to 1/250 sec and let the camera do the rest. I brought out some details in the shadows with the shadows slider in Photoshop. I darkened or removed anything that pulled my eye to the edges of the photo. I hope you, too, get the feeling of admiring Mother Nature's fall colors. It's hard when the expanse of water is so limited.

Cropping off the bright area at top was absolutely the right thing to do. You did a good job presenting this little pond to the viewer. It has a peaceful feeling. Yes, it is a still shot, but the ripples in the water allows the viewer to feel that movement.   Posted: 10/10/2024 20:41:10

I love this photo Carole, and in my view the small expanse of the water is a big part of its charm, as are those two ducks. I don't think it would have been as interesting without them. The ripples definitely add to the peaceful feel. Nice composition and well executed.   Posted: 10/12/2024 21:17:49

This is a beautiful reflection Carole. I like the cropping at the top to focus on the reflection and remove what would be distracting from that. I might also crop in a small bit on the right side (see uploaded image).   Posted: 10/22/2024 19:56:08
