About the Image(s)

We were at a high school reunion and were staying at one of the Chicago area hotels. Our room was on a mid floor. As I got off the elevator to our room I liked the symmetry of the atrium. I photographed the atrium at 1/5 second, f 6.3, ISO 100 and with a 15 mm wide angle lens. In Photoshop I straightened some of the sloping lines. I also cropped some off the right side so that the end of the atrium was not so centered in the image. I then adjusted the contrast, noise level, and then sharpened.

A hypnotic image - thousands of straight lines in dozens of patterns and scales. Your off center crop invites my eyes to roam around, the ten curves at the top really stand out.   Posted: 01/03/2022 13:31:47

I love this. Great job with the final crop. My only nit is to consider cropping down slightly from the top to remove that white line from the skylight.   Posted: 01/11/2022 15:02:16
