About the Image(s)

This is another image from the Sculpture Garden at The Houston Museum of Fine Arts. I was initially drawn to this sculpture as I think I saw the use of the Golden Spiral. The background in the original image is super busy, both with the colors and forms. I therefore converted it to monochrome using Silver Efex Pro, and then took it into Photoshop to apply a Gaussian Blur. This iis my first experiment with that tool, and I look forward to hearing members' comments on the image.

Very good work on the background. You turned a distraction into an asset.   Posted: 11/05/2021 23:57:53

I think that you improved the image by making the background less identifiable. My concern is the lack of a transition between the foreground and background to make it more believable. With that addition, I think the overall image would be great.

I really like the way you blurred the background. I suggest burning in the bright white pavement areas. Also, I think you should try to bring out more detail in the black areas - try using the dodge tool.   Posted: 11/14/2021 19:47:12

Nice work pulling out detail, confirming your good exposure settings in the initial capture.   Posted: 11/16/2021 15:57:21
