Bubble Cascade by Mark Aksoy

May 2022 - Bubble Cascade

About the Image(s)

This is another photo was taken back in early 2020 at nearby Ridley Creek State Park, in southeastern PA. Here, I wanted to zoom in on the continuously forming stream of bubbles emerging from the foot of the waterfalls. Again using my Nikon D750 with Tamron 70-300mm lens on a tripod, I shot at 300 mm, f/5.6, 1/4000 sec and ISO 3200. In Lightroom, I adjusted exposure, highlights, shadows, vibrance, and I reduced luminance noise. Then in Photoshop, I cropped in to create a panoramic format.

Wow, I do not think I have seen a stream with so many bubbles. They are all sharp and your can see through them to the bubbles inside. Interesting concept for an image.   Posted: 05/18/2022 15:51:38

I like this one !! Looks like someone was blowing soap bubbles in the stream. Very cool. I like the rock placement on the right.   Posted: 05/18/2022 18:14:41

I too really like this photo a lot. The bubbles are really incredible and there is so much going on for the eye to dance to. I would like to see what a noncropped image would look like - I feel like a square format might work really well. Nice abstract.   Posted: 05/20/2022 08:32:46

Great shot. I would have been interested what it looked like more stopped down; I think it would be even better with more in focus. At 1/4000 sec, I think you could afford to stop down a bit.   Posted: 05/21/2022 16:12:42
