Cruise Ship by Robert Cordivari

About the Image(s)

This photo was taken in Naples on the Mediterranean and I was trying to show the contrast between the natural beauty of the background mountains and the stark artificial nature of the cruise ship, which looks like it could almost be part of the mountain range.

Interesting image. Where were you standing or were you in another boat? Looks like the ship is RCL twin hull beast. Are the cans just trash that gathered there or what? I think the mountains should have been closer to stand out more if possible.   Posted: 05/18/2022 16:06:25

I was standing on the shoreline. I have no idea what the cans are for. I will try cropping some of the front and right side and see if that makes a difference. Thanks for the input.   Posted: 05/18/2022 16:15:48

I think this is probably the best I can do with this photo.   Posted: 05/18/2022 16:22:28

To me, the boat looks like a decorated cake, with lots of stuff on it, and I find the things floating in the water to be -- well, I just don't know what they are. I do agree that if you could have been closer it might have made a better shot. I'd love to go there.
I think travel shots are so difficult ! I've never mastered them. Lucky you, just to be there.   Posted: 05/18/2022 18:32:42

I love your comment about the ship being like a decorated cake.
It was an eyesore set against a very beautiful backdrop.   Posted: 05/20/2022 08:50:48

Nice idea. For this image to work for me, the mountains would have to be a bit more prominent. At first, I barely noticed them.   Posted: 05/21/2022 16:28:13
