Flowers in the Wild by Meredith Bain

October 2024 - Flowers in the Wild

About the Image(s)

This image was made at a local reserve, Dog Rocks Reserve. It is maintained for the local community and is a magnet for photographers.
On this particular day, the colour of the flowers caught my eye and I abandoned the rocks in favour of the flowers (although, I lay face down on one of them to get this shot).
The image is heavily cropped and I used Photoshop auto colour correct which did a much better job of enhancing the colours than I could manually and in a fraction of the time. I also used PS to remove a few stray reeds of grass at the front of the image. Overall, I am happy with the prettiness of the image and the depth it shows but as always, your thoughts for improvement are welcome.

Fujifilm X-T4, 18-55mm lens @ 18mm, ISO 160, f8, 1/420 sec, hand held

I love the flowers and contrasting colors of the ground cover. Very pretty image. Nice perspective. I wouldn't change a thing.   Posted: 10/13/2024 10:09:53

Hello Meredith, I would print this one! You captured it well. I really like the bright yellow flowers against the soft background. Nice!   Posted: 10/13/2024 20:28:11

Meredith, Very nice image. My eyes kept floating around the colors of the flowers that are accented by the background. Great capture.   Posted: 10/17/2024 14:17:03

Love it. For me, an image does not have to have a focal point.   Posted: 10/24/2024 13:54:47

This image has a dreamy, soothing quality to me. The yellow flowers seem to float over the purple flower background. And I agree, a focal point is not needed here!   Posted: 10/25/2024 17:14:32
