About the Image(s)
I found this picture of a rose in my computer (had forgotten about it). The background wasn't attractive. So I found a nice texture to put over it, but the color was wrong so I picked a color off of the rose and changed the color of the texture. Then I put a mask on the texture layer and erased gradually until I got a softer look for the over-all flower.
I honestly don't remember when or where I took the picture. I don't know what lens I used.
Please do let me know your thoughts about this image.
Thank you !

Donna, this is a beautiful image! Not an easy shot! Your were able to keep the front petals of the rose in focus... Great composition. I really like the texture/background.   Posted: 10/13/2024 20:11:45

Hi Donna, this is gorgeous. I like the grading to orange in the centre of the rose. Your skills with editing have come to the fore when adjusting the background. If anything, I would play with a few different colour backgrounds but it is beautiful as is.   Posted: 10/16/2024 04:45:18

Donna, this is a lovely image. The blending of colors with the rose are perfect and the texture adds a painted look. Very well done!   Posted: 10/17/2024 14:11:06

Nice image. I think I would like a background that was darker so the rose really stood out.   Posted: 10/21/2024 17:10:24

Sure, I can try a different background color. Thanks for the suggestion.
What did you use to get that? A texture? Or just masking in LR?   Posted: 10/24/2024 19:46:06

Just masking in LR. Just increased the exposure.   Posted: 10/24/2024 22:40:59

A compelling image. The sharp nearer petals of the rose contrast well with the soft mottled background. I also agree that the entire flower would stand out better against a lighter or darker background.   Posted: 10/25/2024 16:53:49
