Hello!

My name is Maria Hansen. I am a hobbyist photographer originally from a suburb of Vancouver, Canada now living in Mill Bay on Vancouver Island. I love taking photos and am especially drawn to animals and nature. I enjoy the "in the moment" shots where the photos are as is, where is and I also enjoy using creative techniques in post production.

Although I do not have a photography background, I always loved taking photos. In 2015 I took an online photography course (the first of many :-)) and purchased my first DSLR camera. Since that time, I have taken thousands of photos.

I wasn't too active with photography since 2020 however my passion has been reignited in the past 6 months. I am enthusiastic about learning new and different photography styles and techniques and look forward to connecting with this group.
