About the Image(s)

I attended a retreat in Playa del Carmen, Mexico (just south of Cancun) in late April and a number of peacocks had taken up residence at the resort. They are apparently somewhat territorial — at least the one in the photos lingered in the same are for the entire week of my stay — and they are extremely loud. One evening I discovered the peacock perched on a balcony railing peering into the glass and the next day, the same one was posing in front of the colorful wall of the building. Both were shot with a iPhone 14 and have not had any post-production treatment other than minimal cropping.

At first I thought the tree trunk is a disturbing element - right in the middle behind the peacock.
But then I changed my mind. The tree trunk leads directly to the main object. The observer's view is orientated towards the center. I really like the colour setting - in my opinion very natural.
If it was my image I would have given it a little more room on the left.

You had a great model to keep you busy. The peacock's tail even mimics the ferns in the background. The red makes the photo pop. My suggestion would be to crop in on your mischievous peacock .   Posted: 05/16/2023 08:21:51
