About the Image(s)

New Year-New Theme This photo was taken several years ago but thought I would start the year off with a subject that I haven't shared before.
Taken at the local Zoo. Beautiful lion who I really enjoyed photographing.

Camera Info: Canon Rebel T5i, F8, 1/40 sec., ISO 3200 Hand held, available light.

I like this image I felt like I am looking at a lion the morning after a hangover. It could be a bit sharper and put through a noise reducer program. The image does tell a good story.   Posted: 01/08/2022 16:55:39

nice capture. the vignette helps to bring the eye to the center. Agree with comments about soft focus, what was your focal length? general rule of thumb for sharpness is 1 / focal length.   Posted: 01/17/2022 12:39:48

I like this closeup of the lion. JUst for fun I brought it into PS and used Nik's Detail Extractor and then Topaz's Sharpen AI. I think those things improved the image.   Posted: 01/17/2022 12:45:37

Great catch of an apparently tired, sad lion! I agree the focus is softer than we would like, but I think John's adjustment goes too far. It begins to look artificial.   Posted: 01/19/2022 21:35:59
