With this image, I wanted to portray the feel and mood of a castle as well as capturing the late afternoon sunlight.
It was very contrasty to start, so I used several layers and masks to manage the highlights and shadows. I used the Blue Calibration as well as auto white balance to reduce the bluet tones and warm up the overall image

I like the scene and there is some nice light in it! I have a 'trick' that you might want to use to give the sky a little more afternoon glow look. Pick a 'mellow yellow' (or you could go a little to the orange side) as your foreground color. Then apply it as a solid color layer, change the blend mode to hard mix(it's special) and lower the FILL mode way down. This is a great way to get a nice glow , warm look to a photo. You could use other colors but I stay with the yellow and oranges when I want a warmer look. Give it a try!   Posted: 11/17/2021 10:10:39

You have achieved your goal of capturing the castle and the sea. I agree with Debbie's comment about warming the sky and castle. There may also be some presets that would accomplish nearly the same affect. My eyes are drawn to the door and thete is that bush. It might be fun to replace the bush with a more appealing "center of interest"   Posted: 11/19/2021 10:51:07

Nicely done! I love the glowing bits of light on the ground and on the plant towards the sea! I think the composition is great, and the photo's quite sharp. I don't know enough about post processing to comment more . , ,   Posted: 11/19/2021 21:10:47

I like what you did in post processing. The image now looks inviting rather that cold and of little interest. The repetition of light on the pavement is a bonus. Very nice.   Posted: 11/20/2021 15:15:59

Nice editing from the original. I find my eye moving around the photo. I feel that it is missing an anchor point for the eye to rest on.   Posted: 11/25/2021 17:48:30
