Red Arrows Triptych by John Clare

June 2021 - Red Arrows Triptych

About the Image(s)

I went out to test my new 135mm lens at the weekend and decided to shoot something that moves very fast...the RAF Red Arrows aerobatic team. My first Air Show and I was outgunned by the 400mm and longer monster lenses on show. However I was concentrating on the shapes, patterns and negative space rather than the planes themselves. This triptych shows three of my favourite images.

Leica M10, 135mm f3.4 lens. ISO 1250/1600. Shutter speeds from 1/1000 to 1/1500.

You got shapes etc. I would prefer a 50% crop for your triptych.(with the planes in it)   Posted: 06/22/2021 22:17:49

I like your idea of using a triptych to gives us a summary of the event. I am not sure the first of the tree really gives us more information. Perhaps if you had a shot of the planes on the ground or some other kind of closeup.   Posted: 06/23/2021 10:53:13
