Love this image ! and would have liked to see the foreground shape much more prominent as it has 'real' character!   Posted: 05/10/2022 15:31:38

Can you believe I noticed it only after you pointed it out!   Posted: 05/27/2022 08:54:14

Great image with a fantastic landscape of rock formations and erosion. My research told me that in Goblin Valley, hoodoos are referred to as goblins.   Posted: 05/23/2022 15:26:38

In the Cappadocia region of Turkey, similar formations are called "fairy chimneys," translated, of course.   Posted: 05/26/2022 23:28:54

Interesting. I find it fascinating that in North America, most natural wonders are named after the devil (Devil's Tower, Devil's Golfcourse, Devil's Kitchen, Devils Playground,...) while in India they'd be named after Gods.   Posted: 05/27/2022 08:58:25

What a fascinating observation. Thanks for broadening the discussion of your photo to cultural and language comparisons.
I see from your bio you went to Stony Brook--I got my B.A. from Binghamton.   Posted: 05/27/2022 11:07:26

More coincidence. My father taught physics at SUNY Albany.   Posted: 05/27/2022 13:21:30

Excellent shot! I like the way that the rock formations were composed in between the shadows.   Posted: 05/28/2022 07:26:15
