HI Vern and welcome to Group 08. Your image is very striking with the strong diagonal lines and the complimentary colours of the red boardwalk and the green pasture.
On the left side I suggest cropping the leaves and the partial building and to align the fence with the border versus a light fixture.   Posted: 01/09/2022 09:39:31

Hi Marcus! Thanks for the welcome, the compliment and the suggestion. I totally agree that I could have done a better job cropping.   Posted: 01/09/2022 18:12:07

Nice image with a lot strong line. I will second Marcus with my suggestion to do some cropping in the left. Good work.   Posted: 01/09/2022 14:16:20

Beautiful image ! Sure like the composition with the leading line of the fence. Beautiful colors with the red walkway ....and the fact that the lights are on is a plus!   Posted: 01/11/2022 16:40:13

Thanks Mark! When I submitted the photo, I should have mentioned that we were at this location to shoot a wedding. My focus was the repetition of the lights, and the contrast between the red pier against the green background. At the time that the picture was taken, I didn't even notice that the lights were on.   Posted: 01/11/2022 21:50:29

Hello Vern, nice clean image, but I am wondering what it was you are trying to draw our attention too...my eye dosen't want to focus on any particular point of your shot. For me I would crop the left side of the image and look for a composition using just one of the lamps in the foreground.   Posted: 01/24/2022 17:33:22

Hi Ken,
I totally agree with the cropping, and for some reason, I tend focus on items that are repetitive. Therefore, I focused on the string of lights.   Posted: 01/24/2022 19:10:55

Welcome Vern,
Nice movement through the picture with the fence, lights and shoreline. A little bit of tidying up at top and left maybe needed to eliminate the foliage top left and the far left light that is too close to the edge for comfort.

I like the strong diagonal formed by the white fence and the line of lights. The color contrasts are also nice. While I agree with the others on cropping out the last light at the edge of the frame, I'm more bothered by the leaves at the top left. They're distracting and not enough to form a frame for the image. The sky is nice, but what's the point of including so much of it? It divides the image almost into two halves. You could try more aggressive cropping.   Posted: 01/25/2022 15:37:28

Alastair & Sukumar,
Thanks for the feedback! More attention will be paid to the composition of the next photo and I'll ensure that the it's cropped properly. That's a great point about too much sky.   Posted: 01/26/2022 20:10:18
