About the Image(s)
This is a photo of an old boat in an unusual location, near the sea. The weather was partly cloudy. Photo taken with a 24-70mm lens on a Nikon D700. Focal length at 29mm. Shutter speed 1/640s and aperture f5.6.

Gaetan - great image with a ton of visual interest and a fair degree of impact. You've framed the subject nicely and the subject stands out against what could have been a distracting background, and my only issue is that I feel the leading line formed by the stone partition leads the viewer out of the frame and away from the subject - still, a creative perspective and well done technically.   Posted: 07/04/2024 23:20:20

Hello Gaetan. Thanks for sharing this image. A couple of things come to mind. Maybe going a bit lower and a bit to the left of the boat would have added an interesting perspective. Was wondering if this image would look better in monochrome with addition of some contrast to the stone pavement and rocks on which the boat is resting? But well spotted indeed.   Posted: 07/15/2024 14:23:15

You located a very interesting boat and did a good job of photographing it. I hope that you spent some more time taking images because it looks like there are some interesting closeups to photograph. I don't agree with Hoshedar to go lower, because then the green growth in the boat would not be so noticeable. I did reverse the image so that the concrete blocks would not lead the eye out of the image. I did have to remove the lettering.   Posted: 07/15/2024 20:01:36

I like Judith's's brightness of the image. The composition is immensely improved. Also with the boat brighter, it captures your interest. I feel invited to take it down the water by using the path. Just a bit off PhotoShop!   Posted: 07/24/2024 23:26:37

Visually attractive. I like your composition with interesting plant life inside the subject boat and the background. I appreciate two other strong leading lines - both the long curb blocks and the same sized stones up from the boat. They both lead the viewer's eye to the water.   Posted: 07/26/2024 21:22:48
