About the Image(s)
With Veterans Day this month in the US, I thought that this would be a good image to use. This is in an old corn field in Eastern Missouri, and the land and some financing was provided by the farmer. It is a 100% full size replica. The wind made the flags stand out nicely but not flap too much to be blurry. I liked the row of flags and the cleared corn field in the background. It was taken with my Olympus E-M5 Mark III camera, Olympus 12-45mm lens at 19mm (38mm 50mm equivalent), 1/320 second, f11, ISO 200. I cropped in slightly from the top and bottom. I am also showing the memorial from a different direction.

Nice, clean image - good that the flags miss hiding the horizon. Great composition.   Posted: 11/02/2023 11:57:40

I love the shadows that the flags cast, the symmetry of the flags with the leading lines of the floor lights and the divider taking our eyes to the cluster of trees and then to the blue skies. Excellent image.   Posted: 11/06/2023 17:47:02

Nice concept! Only quibble is too much on the right. I would crop off a lot of the white and darken the white that is left.   Posted: 11/10/2023 20:49:17

Thanks, that is a good idea.   Posted: 11/10/2023 21:23:40

I would shoot in 'portrait mode', move slightly to the left and delete the portion at the left hand side.

Tom,
November is a great choice for this photo showing the flags and America's spirit in a cornfield. Lines and triangles, blue and white sky, and a little breeze highlight this photo. Great choice!   Posted: 11/18/2023 14:03:07

I like the symmetry of the mostly unfurled flags and their line leading our eye further into the image. The colorful cornfield adds as does the the sky with some interesting cloud patterns. My thought Tom would be to crop in from the right leaving four flags in the distance and darkening the sidewalk as it pulls my eye.   Posted: 11/18/2023 15:39:37
