Headed our club over to Greenfield Plant Farm in Maineville, Ohio to shoot from their collection of over five hundred annuals. Sony 6300 apsc, E18-135 lens, 74mm, 1/125,f5.6, 100 ISO and mini soft box.

Interesting composition with an attractive center flower and then 2 buds pointing away from it to the right and left. The flower is sharp at the front and center, and a bit blurred at the back, but that is not a problem. The background is nicely blurred. An improvement would be to get rid of the 2 partial buds at the bottom right and left. They pull my eye from the flower. Posted: 05/14/2023 16:07:04

I agree with Tom on his critique. Good share image with the background suitably blurred. Would I change anything? Maybe rotate the flower a bit so instead of rising vertically it would be at an angle in the picture? Posted: 05/17/2023 11:09:50
I like how the center of flower is the center of the picture. The center of the flower and the bright colors attract the viewers eye. The petals, their beautiful colors and their outward spreading lines direct the viewer to more outward facing, partial opened buds. Those buds provide balance and harmony to photo. Nicely done! It is a good shot. As Tom has mentioned, the partial buds are a distraction. The background is blurred and that is nice.The bud at the upper left is a bit out of focus. There is a good contrast between the colours of the flowers and the background. Posted: 05/19/2023 22:57:43
