Yellow Springs Water Fall by Rich Sears

October 2021 - Yellow Springs Water Fall

About the Image(s)

Yesterday I went water falling near Yellow Springs, Ohio and have submitted an image that I protected the highlights and opened the shadows, then prepared for b&w conversion by increasing contrast and conversion, over to Nik Silver Effect Pro 2, selected Fine Art Preset, tinted selenium blue.

I am curious what everyone thinks.

I won't pretend to understand the technical aspect of what you did. I do like the highlighted section of roiling water offset by the shadowy areas. I also like the sense of rapid, violent movement and the feeling of falling and being hurled back up.   Posted: 10/11/2021 15:19:48

An interesting image. It does not look like monochrome. It is an unusual image of a waterfall, but the eye is certainly drawn to the brightest, sharpest and most detailed part of the image. I like it.   Posted: 10/14/2021 10:30:17

Thanks Tom. Prior to exiting the conversion program I applied at Selenium blue filter.   Posted: 10/14/2021 13:24:06
