About the Image(s)

This is another image from one of my favorite sites, Copp’s Hill Burial Ground in Boston. It was a very cold afternoon and the graveyard seemed to reflect the frigid temperature.

Hello Paul, the blue skies do convey a cold afternoon. Starkness of the trees brought out very well. Perhaps the background on the left a bit over exposed?   Posted: 06/04/2021 11:29:57

Thank you Hoshedar and welcome to the group. The upper left is a bit over exposed, it was mid-afternoon in mid-winter and the sunlight was very strong. I will play with it a bit and see if I can tone it down.   Posted: 06/08/2021 12:17:00

Yes, it does look cold and lonely. I like the crop that you made. I agree with Hoshedar that the left center looks blown out. It looks like a very interesting location, maybe you can go back.   Posted: 06/09/2021 16:16:57

Your image does indeed reflect the cold day it was. I like how you have included the short staircase in the foreground and the building in the background for depth. My suggesion would be to consider cropping down a ways from the top to devote more attention to the grave stones.   Posted: 06/17/2021 15:38:22

Feels spooky with the gravestones slabs instead of concrete. I like the idea of cropping from the top but I would do even more than Rich suggested. I would take the top down so that there is 2/3 less sky than his suggestion. The steps would also go. Then the focus is on the stones.   Posted: 06/22/2021 17:17:04

Now the graveyard seems in little warm tone on my monitor.
If want to made it cooler, I would increase the white balance cooler. even let the shade area get little blue.
Also I would crop out about 1/4 from down side to the concrete stair. If want to get more attention to the grave stones, then crop out more from top as Rich suggested.   Posted: 06/23/2021 17:36:11
