About the Image(s)
This was taken last month at the Mountain Farm Museum in Smokies National Park. This is not what I normally think of for a museum, as it is a grouping of old buildings along a stream. I was there fairly early in the morning and so the sun was fairly low on the horizon. This rock in the stream was in sunlight, but the surrounding area was dark. It looked very striking to me, and from this angle, to looks like a turtle (it even has an eye). This is a good size rock, probably 4 feet long on the body of the "turtle". I used my Olympus camera and 14-150mm lens at 80mm, 1/160th second, f8, and ISO 200. Do you think that I would have a better image if I removed the "turtle" head, and so only showed the rock?

But thank goodness I have a weekend away next weekend - hopefully detox the brain! :)   Posted: 10/10/2024 19:39:05
The rocks fascinating. What a great nature shot! I liked Butches satuaration but your crop. Check out the lichen and you can enter it in Nature with a nature title.   Posted: 10/26/2024 22:49:12
