Lovely photo of mushroom. The soft color catches my eye. Did you use a macro lens? Also wonder what would happen if you added just a tiny bit of contrast.   Posted: 01/08/2025 20:35:25
Ruth - I tried several different backgrounds - the mushroom is a funny color and nothing seemed to look goo with it.   Posted: 01/12/2025 17:19:45
I love shooting mushroom. I love eating them also. I would love to know how you set up the photo and shot it. Maybe increasing the aperture would have allowed for a sharper view of the grass cover also.   Posted: 01/10/2025 21:56:19
Lori - My hubby was bearing down on me with the lawn mower... I was sitting on the ground, and the siding of the house was behind this beauty, I had my Olympus M10 Mark-2 out, and had an ISO of 1250 because I was shooting into a tree cavity before this. So this was a grab shot at f/8 and 1/60th. Wish my tripod had been handy!!   Posted: 01/12/2025 17:25:55
You didn't give us a preamble to your photo but I'm guessing this was shot close up as opposed to being cropped. f/8 isn't that shallow of depth of field so I'm also assuming you had a longer lens to get the compression. I'm not familiar with the Olympus cameras but I'm assuming this is a micro 4/3's format. At any rate, I think this is a nice shot of a mushroom. It shows detail and it's actually standing tall and to me, shows personality. I would try a black or dark brown background to allow a bit of separation. Nice capture, inspite of your husband wanting to hurry you along.   Posted: 01/12/2025 19:18:09
