About the Image(s)

I have a blue box in my backyard, 2023 has been a fantastic year for it. This couple had 3 broods. The first 2 broods had 5 eggs and the 3rd 3 eggs. Unfortunately we lost all 3 and she layed 3 more in the original box. We left for our trip when we returned. The babies were almost tenagers and they followed their parents all over the place for food. In this photo all 3 babies followed mom to our bird feeder! She was so exhausted from feeding them that finally took a minute for herself and turned her back to them. As you can tell from the original, I cropped the image and made some adjustments. My issue is the right side with her. Any help would be appreciated.

You do get some excellent bird shots Sophia. I love the 3 young birds and their mother. To improve it I would crop from the left as this to me is dead space. Using your image I then used "Object Select" to select the mother I then inverted this selection so that I could clone without touching the mother I then carefully cloned going over some bits twice if I wasn't satisfied. Finally I used the crop tool using content aware to extend the image on the right.   Posted: 09/04/2023 03:10:24

Sophia, I think David has achieved the perfect solution to your problem (which is very minor and easy to solve). You have another award-winning photograph to add to your ever-growing collection.   Posted: 09/04/2023 11:38:54

Sophia, this is a great photo. I agree that David has found the ideal solution. It works because you have a lot of background that can be cloned. The catch light in the eyes of all four birds is very good. Jim   Posted: 09/04/2023 16:05:55

Sophia how lucky are to have this family in your back yard I am sure they posed for you! And you wrote on my image of an alligator ...having these creatures in our back yard almost everyday ... I see that yu live in SC so it must be on the water. I envy you your location.

A great image Sophia well worthy of a medal in any exh.

Sophia, your bird images are amazing! I can't help but wonder how long you have to wait for the birds to "pose" for you. With your wonderful photograph and David's modification, you have an image that deserves to be printed and hung on the wall. Well done.
