About the Image(s)

Taken in some woods near where I live. Thought I was taking a picture of fungi but when I got home noticed the two ladies who I’m sure weren’t there when I pressed the shutter.

Yes this is definitely a rare find. Congratulations on the capture. I like everything about this. Its framed by the mushroom...its lines enclose the elfs and the colour grading and added texture work to make it look like a beautiful illustration in a vintage fairy tale book. Like the juxtaposition of the expressions. The pixie looks like more fun, the elf more like her mum. the light seems to come from the left except the pixie where it is ambiguous.   Posted: 11/01/2021 16:53:04

David, this is a truly a fun fantasy, there is absolutely nothing I could add to improve it. Super image.
Please note that I removed the originals from the comment section and posted them on the side. take a look at Steve Estill's image in no. 34. This is the way we deal with images worked together to form the final to avoid cluttering up the main page.   Posted: 11/02/2021 06:47:51

Fun. Reminds me of the Cottingley Fairies of 1917.   Posted: 11/03/2021 13:51:30

Truly outstanding job! Your choice of colors is wonderful. Also, of course, flipping the ladies and changing their dresses was excellent! I wonder how it would look without the added texture.

Very well done!

This is the version without the texture. Which do you prefer?   Posted: 11/14/2021 11:28:59

David,

I like it both with and without the texture. I played a bit with the lighting to see if I could make it an even more intimate scene. Your thoughts?

After you asked for the non textured version I played around and decided I would go with texture but at 50% opacity. After seeing your latest version I will probably rework the 50% version to darken it as you have done. Unfortunately last week I submitted my original version for my local club competition and it is now too late to change. Thanks for your work.   Posted: 11/15/2021 07:05:44
