About the Image(s)

This picture demonstrates that it pays to get out there, even when the weather looks dreadful for photography. It was dark and overcast and we had already shot this scene the day before. Despite that, we decided to give it a go. We were rewarded with a break in the clouds and a rainbow. Contrast and saturation changes made in

Zabriskie Point: I remember being there, and how crowded it became with so many tripods. You have really added so much drama by adjusting the contrast and saturation, and thereby holding our attention. This is a wonderful landscape vista that you captured and enhanced.   Posted: 05/02/2021 20:45:53

The ridges of the FG caused me to wonder where you were able to stand and take the picture. it appears as though it was shot from the air although I realise from your description it was not. A beautiful shot Mark--well worth the return visit. Good work!   Posted: 05/06/2021 13:01:01

Mark, yes, the rainbow makes the picture. You did a very good job of bringing out the texture in the rocks in the foreground.   Posted: 05/08/2021 15:48:32

I like the work you have done on the foreground bringing out the textures and colours of the rocks. The rainbow also adds to the image. For my taste the sky on the right hand side is over-processed and draws my eye away from the wonderful rocks.   Posted: 05/11/2021 05:21:38
